The Bar Harbor Fire Department is accepting applications for two full time firefighter /  EMT’s. Bar Harbor Fire Dept. will select candidates for further consideration that meet  its specific requirements, and who best meet the objectives and needs of the fire  department. 

Requirements

  • Maine Licensed EMT, EMT-A, or EMT-P / EMT-P preferred 
  • AHA CPR 
  • ALS Providers must have ACLS, PALS, and PIFT 
  • Maine Certified or Pro Board Firefighter 1 & II (NFPA 1001 qualifications) EVOC 
  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Maine Driver’s License 
  • Must live within 39 road miles of Central fire station 
  • Pass written exam 
  • Pass physical agility test

The Town of Dedham is accepting applications for the full-time position of Firefighter/EMT. We are looking for a positive and motivated individual to join our family. The desired candidate should be a Maine licensed EMT or AMT) and be a minimum Firefighter I Certified.

This position is a full-time position, which is a rotating 12-hour daytime position. 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off.  You will be responsible for the efficient performance of required duties in conformance with the rules, regulations, and policies established by the State, Town, and Fire Department. Duties shall consist of a number of fire and EMS responsibilities necessary to ensure the stability and safety of our community. Duties will also include minor maintenance and upkeep of all apparatus and equipment, as well as housekeeping duties.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Graduation from high school or its equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Graduation from an accredited basic fire academy and/or certification by the State of Maine as a Firefighter, FF I-II preferred.
  • Pumps I-II.
  • EMS license

LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATES

  • American Heart Association CPR Certification.
  • Firefighter I
  • EMT or higher preferred.
  • EVOC or equivalent
  • Individuals must possess a valid Maine Driver’s License at the time of appointment. Revocation of license during employment may result in disciplinary action, including the possibility of termination, or reassignment.

 

REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL LEVELS

  • Some knowledge of the street system and layout of the town is helpful.

Glenburn EMS assists the fire department with providing exceptional service to our community and the surrounding area. Our EMS response model is non-traditional and offers opportunities for freedom and growth. Glenburn EMS offers paid day shifts from the fire station and the flexibility to work from within the response area on a stipend/pay-per-call basis. Current department projects include implementing ALS response, and Community Paramedicine.

The Town of Wiscasset is currently accepting applications for Per-Diem EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics. Applicants must be highly motivated and able to work in a team environment. Pay rate averages are $15-EMTs, $16.50-AEMTs, and $20 for Paramedics.
