GENERAL:

The Boothbay Regional Ambulance Service (BRAS) is a 501c3 that serves the Boothbay Region:
including Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, and Southport. BRAS operates out of a premier facility located in Boothbay, Maine. It boasts a simulation lab, exercise room, (4) individual living quarters, as well as well-appointed trucks and equipment. It has been noted that the residents of Boothbay Region are some of the kindest and most grateful patients for your service.
BRAS EMS Chief is responsible for all functions of BRAS. That includes; staff, equipment, facilities, and processes of BRAS whether directly or indirectly. The EMS Chief is also responsible for establishing the best emergency medical practices as well as ensuring BRAS provides a safe and healthy work environment.   • The BRAS EMS Chief shall report to the Board of Directors through coordination and collaboration of the Board President.

  • The BRAS EMS Chief will work with an Assistant EMS Chief to achieve the goals stated here.
  • The Assistant EMS Chief shall report to the BRAS EMS Chief.
  • The Assistant EMS Chief is to be hired by the BRAS EMS Chief in conjunction with the Board of Directors and Personnel Committee.

  • Works with the Board of Directors in business development activities not limited to grant writing, public fundraising, and other fundraising activities
  • Meets with elected or appointed officials, EMS officials, community and business representatives, and the public in promoting all aspects of the BRAS
  • Attend conferences and meetings to keep abreast of current trends in the field; represents the EMS Department in a variety of local, county, state, and other meetings.
  • Serves as a privacy/HIPAA officer

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Background in grant writing, financial reporting, and fundraising
  • Four (4) years prior work experience of a progressively responsible nature in emergency medical services, including supervisory duties which must have been equivalent to Assistant Chief or higher

The City of Gardiner Fire/Rescue Department is now accepting applications for a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic. This is an entry-level Firefighter/Paramedic position with the City and an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic, motivated professional to become a valued member of the Gardiner Fire/Rescue family.

Gardiner Fire/Rescue provides Paramedic level EMS services to 8 communities completing approximately 3000 EMS calls and 200 fire calls per year. Gardiner Fire and Ambulance provides EMS service to eight communities covering an area of 173 square miles and provides fire coverage for the City of Gardiner and is part of an active automatic and mutual aid group of
communities. This is a 42-hour per week position working a 24 on 72 off schedule. Successful candidates will be involved in fire suppression, EMS, fire prevention, and other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be a current AEMT or paramedic provider. Paramedic level strongly preferred.  If you are not a paramedic you will be required to become a paramedic within 2 years of the hire date.
Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
College degree from an accredited university is preferred.
Must possess a valid Maine driver’s license, with a clean record.
Must have a minimum of Basic Fire School Firefighter I and/or II certification is preferred.
Candidate must complete a physical agility examination, EMS test station, peer oral interview as well as an extensive background check.

Regional Administrators. One of the Administrators will primarily serve the Southern Maine and Mid-
Coast Regions and the other will primarily serve the Northeast and Kennebec Valley Regions.

Position Description: The Regional Administrator will be the point resource person for the EMS agencies and
Hospitals in their designated Regions, to include:
1) Maintaining close communication with, and liaison to, member agencies.
2) Works with the Executive Director on the deliverables as outlined in the contract with Maine EMS.
3) Coordinates and facilitates Regional EMS meetings.
4) Ensures representation of the APEMS membership at related meetings and functions.
5) Provides technical assistance to individual members and agencies.
6) Primary administrative and QI support for the Regional Medical Directors.
This is a part-time, 24-hour per week, flexible schedule, hourly wage position, with the wage being determined
by the Executive Director and approved by the APEMS Board each year. The Administrators reports to the
Executive Director.

Minimum Qualifications:
1) High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2) Valid Driver’s license required
3) Current Maine EMS Licensure required; Paramedic License preferred.
4) Computer literacy and good interpersonal communication skills are required.
