Winterport Ambulance Service

          The Winterport Ambulance Service, part of the Winterport Fire and Rescue Association, a private non-profit organization, is currently seeking applications for all Levels of EMS, from EMTs to Paramedics. Our department responds to an average of 500 emergency calls annually between Winterport and Frankfort.

 

The service operates with one frontline ambulance staffed 24/7 and a backup ambulance stocked at the AEMT level. Shifts are per-diem, 12-hour blocks, running from 0600-1800 and 1800 0600.

 

Minimum qualifications include a Maine Driver’s license and AVOC or EVOC certification. Members receive a $2.10/hour stipend for staying at the station. Hourly pay rates, including stipend, are as follows:

 

  • Driver $16.80
  • EMT: $18.90
  • AEMT: $19.95
  • Paramedic: $23.10

 

Other Benefits include paid holidays, earned time off, and a clothing allowance.

Searsport Ambulance Service is accepting applications for all positions (Drivers, EMTs, AEMTs, Paramedics).

Job Description:

  • The position of a Per Diem EMS provider requires providing medical aid within the community.
  • Work involves training for participation in duties of protecting life and property through performing rescue activities.
  • Duties between calls include housekeeping, maintenance, and interacting with the public.
  • Shifts are 12 hours.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent: any equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered at the Town’s discretion.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • CPR (AHA).
  • ACLS/PALS for Paramedic providers.
  • AVOC certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Valid Maine EMS License (if applying as provider).
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • All individuals considered for the position must have clean driving and criminal records. A background check is completed on all individuals considered for hire. This is a non-union position.

 

Rates of pay-

Driver -$17/hr

Basic – $20/hr

Aemt – $24/hr

Paramedic – $28/hr

The Town of Orono, home to the University of Maine, has openings for career-oriented candidates to join our fire department. Orono Fire is an all-hazards response agency responsible for the delivery of fire, emergency medical, and technical rescue services to the Town and the University of Maine.

 

Position Summary

The work schedule is 24/72, average 42-hour week. Orono Fire operates out of one centrally located station and staffs five firefighters per shift. Orono Fire has the distinction of providing hazardous materials response services for Penobscot County and serving as a designated State Regional Response Team.

 

Candidates who are selected will be required to perform firefighting, driving, and operations of apparatus, emergency medical services, community outreach, and special operations duties including hazardous materials response

 

Minimum Qualifications:

-Must be at least 18 years of age

-High school diploma or equivalent

-Valid Maine driver’s license or ability to attain prior to employment

-Willingness to be a contributing member of a team that values collaboration, exploration, and personal growth

 

Preferred Qualifications:

-Proboard or IFSAC Firefighter I or I/II

-Maine or National Registry Paramedic, Advanced EMT, or EMT. Preference will be given to Paramedics

-Current hazardous materials operations or technician certification

-Associate degree in Fire Science, Paramedicine, Business, or a similar area of study
