Course: KVCC Paramedic Certificate Program 2019

This is a 3-semester certificate program that starts January 2019 and ends December 2019; following the KVCC college academic calendar.  Students must successfully complete each course in each semester to proceed. Estimated total cost of Paramedic Certificate: $7,000.00 (price will vary based on textbook pricing in 2019)

Prerequisites for this course include a current Advanced EMT license, Healthcare-Provider CPR card, American Databank background check, completed Accuplacer Exam, and up-to-date immunizations. Semester 1:

  • Starts January 22, 2019, and ends May 7, 2019*, every Tuesday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and the first Wednesday of every month 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Students will register for the following courses for this first semester – EMS208, EMS209, and EMS215
  • EMS215 is the clinical portion of this semester, expect to schedule a minimum of 120 clinical hours (more may be needed to complete EMS215 clinical objectives)
  • 10 college credits

Semester 2:

  • Starts May 21, 2019, and ends August 6, 2019*, every Tuesday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and the first Wednesday of every month 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Students will register for the following courses for this first semester – EMS218, EMS219, and EMS225
  • EMS225 is the clinical portion of this semester, expect to schedule a minimum of 128 clinical hours (more may be needed to complete EMS225 clinical objectives)
  • 10 college credits

Semester 3:

  • Starts September 10, 2019, and ends December 17, 2019*, every Tuesday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and the first Wednesday of every month 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Students will register for the following courses for this first semester – EMS228, EMS229, and EMS235
  • EMS25 is the clinical portion of this semester, expect to schedule a minimum of 216 clinical hours (more may be needed to complete EMS235 clinical objectives)
  • 8 college credits
