As of May 1, 2014 Maine EMS requires providers to obtain their CEH based on HOUR FOR HOUR they spend in the classroom or online with training. EXAMPLE: A basic EMT will need 38 hours to recert, you must submit 38 total hour sof education in the required categories. NATIONAL TRAFFIC INCIDENT MANAGEMENT RESPONDER TRAINING PROGRAM
The National TIM Responder Training Program was created as part of SHRP 2 (Strategic Highway research Program 2) which was authorized by Congress in 2005. The National TIM Responder Training Program was designed to establish the foundation for and to promote consistent training of all responders to achieve the three objectives of the TIM National Unified Goal (NUG):
- Safe, Quick Clearance
- Prompt, Reliable, Interoperable Communications
This program is open to Law Enforcement, Fire/EMS, DOT, MTA, Tow & Recovery, and Communication Centers
